Trail Signs

Trail Sign at Carr Brook
Some of our new trail signs

Mark and the gang have been busy over the last couple of weeks getting trail signs posted. There's still a few more to go, but the area around Carr Brook and Miles Mtn. are now covered. For those of you "exploring", the signs should be a help. A reminder that our Trail Maps are now posted and downloadable for free. Grab a copy and carry it with you!

Bombard Rd. Concord UPDATE!

(9-1)

Thanks to Rick and Stan! A quick fix on the Bombard Rd. bridge. A few planks and it's a much better crossing! Thanks guys!

And Deep!

The busy little beavers have been hard at work again. Dispite numerous attempts to keep the water down, it's once again up to the headlights of your average 500 machine. (They're shining underwater on my 300!) The bottom is good solid class 4 town road, but keep your feet up! and watch for the underwater ditch in the west end of the pond where the channel runs in. It's steep and deep! and yes Virginia, that IS a beaver dam looming above the rider on the right side of the bottom picture.

Ladd Rd. to Streeter Rd. at Royalston Corner trail
(8-19)

The Ladd Rd. to Streeter Rd. at Royalston Corner trail is much improved. Although this rough and rocky trail could still stand considerably more work, it is now rideable on the hill section with the bypassing of the worst sections with new additions to the trail. Use the new sections, skip the big rocks, and enjoy! Thanks for the great work!

Thomas Rd. from Baptist Hill Lunenburg
to West Thomas Rd. at Oregon Rd.
East Concord.
(8-15)

The bridge is open! The Lunenburg crew has completed installation of the new span, and everything is back to normal. A short section of the trail at the top of the hill has seen some new fill installed, but it remains muddy. Please ride slowly past the residences at both ends! A 25mph ATV sign is posted at the Oregon Rd. Crossing. Obey it!

Route 2 Crossing at Concord Fire Station

Our sincere thanks to Jeff for donating a truck load to sta-mat on the trail to Barnie's Market at the hill by the fire station! That particular place sees a lot of wear and tear. Please use caution and help keep these improvements in place. Also many thanks to Mark and Lincoln for the great work on the section of trail from the Post office to Barnie's. It remains a little rough with all that stone they installed, but it's a vast improvement over the old snowmobile trail. Remember. Use that trail only! No wheelers on Rte:2 except to cross.
As the signs say: "Stay on the Trail or Stay Home!

If you see a trail sign down, or thrown over the bank, please stop and put it back. Game Warden Trevor Szymanowski is constantly replacing and repairing signs that are being removed by vandals and could use our help. Remember, if you or anyone is caught riding where you're not supposed to be, posted or not, it's your responsibility to know! It could cost you a couple of hundred bucks and the impounding of your wheeler. These signs are for the benefit of all, and need to be in place! Remember, there's a potential $300.00 fine for removing or defacing a VASA sign!

Pack It In, Pack It Out

We're finding a few spots along the trail with trash and litter spread around. Although I doubt any club member would leave a mess behind, it makes us look bad. Please, leave our trails cleaner than you found them, and if at all possible, clean up any messes you may find. Thanks!
