Top of the World ATV Club meeting minutes Feb. 12th, 2008
There were 14 members and 1 non-member present. The meeting was called to order at 7:10pm. The secretary’s report was read, motion made by Bob and seconded by Chad to accept the minutes. Treasurer’s report was read, Alan made the motion, it was seconded by Bob to accept it until audited.
Under old business, Lincoln mentioned that our raffle made $417.00 profit. He also said we should send thank you cards to the businesses that donated stuff. Rocky made the motion to do this, it was seconded by Chad. Lincoln also stated that the ’08 memberships are available through any officer and at the point of sales.
Larry Brown has given us permission to put a Kiosk in car brook. Chad mentioned having one maybe at Royalston Corner and Miles Pond field, and Karl mentioned having one at the old foundry. Lincoln said for any Kiosk in Concord we need a permit but not in Lunenburg. He also let us know that Karl and him stamped all the trail maps with the required info. Charlotte Farrow has finished the ’07 paperwork for the fee of $75.00 that was previously agreed upon.
Bob let us know he worked on the club’s chainsaw that was donated by PJ. Bob donated all the parts and his time to the club. Thanks to both of them.
Under new business Lincoln approached the members about needing some trail masters, both in Concord and Lunenburg. Bob Tucker will be the trail administrator. So all trail masters will report to him. The trail masters will oversee signage, trail maintenance, etc. Please let any of the officers or Bob know if you can help.
We need a fund raiser committee, Norma and Star have both volunteered to help with this. Any others interested please let us know. We are also looking for any volunteers to help on any other committees. Especially when it comes to ride-ins, rodeos, sled pulls, etc.
The officers are working on trying to find a trail to a restaurant. We are trying to do ride-ins where we don’t have to have pot luck. The officers want to meet with the N. Stratford club to find out what kind of fundraisers they have. Some clubs have the right to fine people during trail maintenance or patrolling trails.
Lincoln asked for a volunteer to be the VASA Representative and an alternate. No one responded, Lincoln said he will be the rep. And Bob said he would be the alternate. Star made the motion to have Lincoln and Bob take part, it was seconded by Chad. Lincoln also said newsletters will start again in March.
Dave Lunnie’s web site w/club info on it is great! Many members look at the site. We will be asking Dave how much it would cost the club to have a stand alone site. We could directly pay him for the site.
Lincoln asked the members present what we should do for Breezy Meadows for letting us use the Rec. Hall. He also said the club banner is at VASA, but he will be getting it very soon. It was mentioned that we have all phone numbers removed from it and have just the web site on it. All members agreed to this. All members present also agreed that for members that do not have a wheeler but want to be a member still can, they will receive a white membership card and a club sticker.
Lincoln also said in order to place another t shirt order we have to have at least 50 orders; otherwise it will cost us extra money. Every years cut off date will be June 1st for previous members to be able to vote at meetings. The motion was made by Bob and seconded by Rocky. Karl mentioned that we will be having officer meetings prior to the club meetings. We have to create policies and procedures. Lincoln said if any members have any questions or comments feel free to call him.
Debbie said that when we meet with the N. Stratford club we need to talk about how they handle trail violations. In the state of VT there were 405 violations last year. VASA wants clubs to patrol their trails. Call Lincoln if you see anyone trail violations.
In the Spring, Lincoln will talk with Liz Woffard and Sid Patridge again about a better trail to go from Concord to North Concord. Debbie asked about the safety course. It was said that as of this month there hasn’t been anything mentioned yet. Hopefully at the next VASA meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 8:10pm. Chad made the motion to adjourn, it was seconded by Bob. Next meeting will be March 11th, 2008, at Breezy Meadows Campground Rec. Hall.
Respectfully Submitted,
Donna L. Paquette, Secretary
